In 2011 Thomson Reuters sponsored a global contest to find a third person to join expedition leader Jason de Carteret and engineer Kieron Bradley on a harrowing expedition across Antarctica. Together, the team would attempt to break the world record for the fastest time from the coast of Antartica to the South Pole. I won that contest, and was given the opportunity to film the expedition for a potential documentary. No crew, no chase team, no guarantees. Just me and a small handful of camera equipment. Discovery Channel eventually aired World's Toughest Drive in over 30 countries.
