Writer. Producer. Director. Actor.

Liar.

If commercial storytelling is really just bending the truth, then Jason J. Thomas is nothing if not an accomplished liar. Wait—that sounds bad. An award-winning copywriter and creative director for 10 years before deciding money and stability were overrated, he switched his focus instead to acting and directing.
Since then Jason has appeared in a number of network television series, several national advertising campaigns, and the indie horror feature "Scarecrows". He’s been the face of Cisco Systems and Holiday Inn Express, which, sadly, got him neither free internet nor room upgrades. In 2017 Jason made his standup comedy debut on the venerable Main Stage at Second City in Toronto, and didn’t even throw up once!
His short films have screened at festivals in Los Angeles, Toronto, London, and Rome (where his film "I See Before Me" won Best Drama Short). In 2011 Jason also filmed the documentary World’s Toughest Drive about his death-defying expedition across Antarctica — where he maybe did throw up once. The two-part documentary aired worldwide on Discovery Channel.
In addition to the projects found on this website, Jason has served as a script and story consultant for major American TV networks, written and directed over 100 radio commercials and directed the stage musical Bye Bye Birdie to critical acclaim for the County Stearns Theatrical Company in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Jason and his wife Angela are allowed to share their home with a retired racing greyhound named Paulie Walnuts, who has no range and can’t take direction for shit.
Jason is beyond grateful to have been selected into Atlantic Film Co-operative's 2022 Film5 program as a producer.
